    Hi

I have ISTQB certification.I am applying for jobs in USA but I dont get any replies, the ones I get are you are not considered or not selected type of emails. What else can I do?

  14. Hoàng Hà

I know a little english so you feeling sorry. i want to become tester then how ?

  15. Thanh Huynh

    Hi Argas,
I hear you. I don’t live in US, but I can imagine how competitive software testing market there is. It’s good that you have ISTQB certification but you should also be aware that certification is not enough. Getting replies from companies for job application depends on different things. One of the most important things is to make sure what you present *in* your job application *match* their requirements. The more the match is the better your chance is.

Don’t lose hope, keep learning, adding your skills and keep applying for jobs. Be patient.

    Goodluck

I stumbled on your post on Qoura whilst googling what i need to become a Software tester. My background is in Agriculture, Fisheries Mgt to be precise but since moving to the UK, that’s been kinda axed. Already downloaded your guide but I really could use a mentor/guide. I currently work as a care assistant ( just a means to an end) but no savings whatsoever at the end of the month from doing this. Really want to change that by walking on this new path…

Pardon my epistle, just had to let you know where I’m coming from. Thanks in anticipation of your mentorship/guidance

  18. Thanh Huynh

    Hi Deej,

Thanks for reaching out and reading my stuff.
While I’m glad that you’re planning to join software testing, at the same time, I’m sad to see that you’re struggling with your journey and life so far. Unfortunately, I’m not providing any personal mentorship or guidance at the moment. Even though I do really like helping people, one-on-one coaching will cost me a lot of time if I help people this way. So, I think it’s best to help more people via my blog posts or free online course. Hopefully, I can build more course and write more guides in the future. Meanwhile, don’t hesitate to send me your questions if any.

    Cheers

  23. Rupali

    Hi Thanh Huynh,

I Want to rejoin my career as software tester so please help me with recent testing technology.

    Regards
    Rupali

  24. Thanh Huynh

    @Rupali,

To be honest, I don’t see much changes in the nature of testing itself. Testing is still testing. However, testing needs to adapt the technology of the system under test and SDLC.

Anyway, for technology, I would see AI, Machine Learning as a trend right now. Testing will be using more and more tools to assist the testing (automated test). For details, you may need to do your own research.

    I wish you luck.
