    Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your question and what I can say that you are not alone.

I often receive the similar concerns from new testers and I also observe the same concerns brought up on forums and meetups.

Regarding negative response, most of negative response about software testing is from people has never done any type of testing. In other words, I call these mis-perceptions in software testing

I’m not sure what type of testing you are talking about but if you mean “traditional manual testing” where testers just follow exact test case and run it again and again and again builds after builds, then that type of testing is almost dead or at least should be dead.

Why? It’s because it doesn’t either add much value to build quality product or reduce the cost of testing.

Augusto shared great advice in an interview with AskTester. I would like to quote one of them as below:

If there is one thing that I would recommend to a tester transitioning to agile is to unlearn as quickly as possible the “quality police” aspects of traditional testing and start focusing on collaborating with developers and business stakeholders.

I’m glad when you said that you love testing and no matter what you would do testing only. Keep that passion and motivation. Don’t worry about negative response and because you can’t control it. The only thing you can control is your skill. Keep sharpen your skills, learn more skills to support your do better testing..and you’ll be fine.

    Goodluck!
