Hi all,
Nowadays, a lot of experienced QA engineers change their career path to BA. Is BA better than QA for career path or income? Can an engineer learn more/improve skill set in BA role than QA role in Software Development? Is there any trend like this or did I just observe in a small community and get the assumption?
Thanks,
Lan Huynh
Hi Lan,
I don’t observe any trend like that when QA is moving to BA. Do you have any number or percentage to backup your point?
I’m not sure if there is any trend, as I said in my question. But, a lot of my friends that worked in QA changed their job to BA. And, almost BAs that I know did as QA in Software company.
Oh, I see. Of course, if a tester has the right skill, he/she can become a BA, but I don’t think a BA is a next level of a tester or superior than a tester. From what I know about business analyst, testing and analyzing the system have different goals.
Btw, did your BA share how come they changed the role?
